Question

digital out doesn't work correctly

Blu-ray = HDMI 1 Cable = HDMI 2
Setup PC Audio Select = PC IN
Sound bar works for Blu Ray player (tv audio is also on) then I switch input to HDMI 2 "Cable" and sound goes to tv speakers only. Switch input back to HDMI 1 and sound bar no longer works. Settings are still the same though. I have to tab through PC Audio Select again from HDMI to PC IN and the sound bar comes back.
Under Options Output select is set to fixed.
Audio Setup is set for Dolby but is grayed out.
Please help!

I bought this TV as well and had the same problem. Ditch the Optical Cable and just run it thru RCA Jacks (Audio, Red and White Cables) and connect the other end to your Surround System. I have my Directv Receiver and laptop hooked up to my TV and they both work this way. If you have a Gaming Console (PS3, Xbox) just use the HDMI hookup and it'll work just fine.

I bought this TV in December and am having the same problem. I would like to know if a fix is available. If there is no fix, please let us know when one will be available. We are using HDMI input 1 & 2 from Digital Cable (1) and Blu-Ray (2). The optical digital audio out is going to a Yamaha receiver that works fine with 2 other HD TV's (both different brands). The only way to get the source audio from the TV to send through to the receiver is to change PC Audio Select from "HDMI" to "PC IN" and then back again. It also seems to cut out again once we turn off the components, switch input sources or even going between live TV and DVR recordings on our Scientific Atlanta / Cisco cable box.

Ain't nobody got time for that! Sorry Sharp this is gonna go back to Best Buy when I get back from my trip Monday! There is a Samnsung 55" same price that was my first choice but I thought I'd take a chance seeing how many positive reviews there were but this new sound bar is too good to return that instead. If the software fix is available by Monday I'll think about messing around with that but I already spent over an hour trying to figure it out. Dang...I really like picture I see at SAMs club and 5" more is an impressive difference!

Paul,

I just purchased this TV, and to correct the individual who answered first, this television DOES NOT offer ARC for HDMI audio output.

Learned this the hard way. So to repeat, that first answer is incorrect. ARC is NOT OFFERED on the le60le600u.

You might want to check the signal strength you get from your cable provider. I was hovering around 75 and had poor picture quality and some channels did not show up. I got a signal booster from radio shack and it boosted the signal and I did channel setup again and I was able to get all channels.

I am not sure why when you change channels it pauses, it could just be the signal coming in from your cable.

The HD picture fading you are talking about is the energy saver. you can change that in the menu under picture, you can change the OPC to off.

As stated in the original question, this Bose system does not have an optical input, only standard RCA type connectors. It seems logical, if such a device exists, to convert the optical audio output from the TV to stereo RCA it should be able to transmit the signal. Of course, it's highly probable that something is missing in that logic.

Question

picture in dot by dot mode is off center to the left

when in dot by dot mode, the screen is shifted to the right by about 1/8" leaving a black border, while on the left 1/8" of the image "fell off" the side (not visible). This is both happenning to HDMI (PS3) and VGA (PC). There is no way in the menu to adjust/center the screen and the screen is filled when in other stretch modes. Is there a service menu I can get in to adjust that? Thanks!

Updates: found "fine sync" option for the vga which was able to adjust and center the image. However, this option is greyed out/disabled for the HDMIs and therefore any source through HDMIs are stilll off center. I believe it's a firmware issue(to enable the sync option or not so watered-down menu), but I unfortunately will not be able to wait for the new firmware and will be returning the TV.

I'm not 100% sure without looking but I think if you have to change to the "TV INPUT" first and then you can go to the "SETUP SETTINGS" then to "EZ SETUP" to change this. I believe this is what I did.
With this TV I have noticed that every setting has to be adjusted while on the TV INPUT first. This ensures that all these settings will be in effect for all INPUTS.

Hello,

I just called the service line for the same reason.

On the remote, press AV Mode repeatedly until you get to something other than Dynamic (Fixed)--it scrolls through. Then press Menu and go to Setup. Select EZ Setup and go through the options. It will allow you to change it there.

Good luck!

Question

Can I connect an AV receiver with RCA connections to the Digital Audio Out Port?

I have the LC-60LE600U and an older surround sound system and the receiver only takes RCA input. My blu ray player and cable box are connected to the television through HDMI cables. Is there any possibility of using the Digital Audio out and running it into the RCA inputs of the receiver? I have read some people's comments where they have to change a setting in the TV audio to make it work. This would not be an issue for me as I don't mind changing settings because I don't want the surround sound to always be on.

Your Receiver should work with RCA Jacks. I have mine coming out of my Surround Sound System and into the Audio Input of my TV (R-AUDIO-L) just under the HDMI INPUTS.
Now change your TV INPUT to TV. Go to MENU and then SETUP then PC AUDIO SELECT. Once there change this to PC IN. It may already be set to this but change it from this setting to HDMI and then back again to PC IN. I don't know why this has to be done this way but I found that it does lol.
Now go back to the INPUT that you normally use "Cable, Satellite, HDMI, Video, Component or PC IN and change to the same setting that you did on TV INPUT. So yes your doing this same setup twice lol. It really is a poor setup Sharp has come up with. Other than this, the TV is very good though. Good luck to you.

Thank you for your inquiry about our Sharp AQUOS LC-70C6500U. The green leaves are a display element of the Optical Picture Control (OPC) functionality. OPC modifies the brightness of the screen relative to the current lighting in the environment around the television. This automatic adjustment works to try and provide the owner with the best viewing experience without having to make manual adjustments themselves If you wish to turn off OPC, press the MENU button on the remote to display the menu onscreen. Use the left and right cursor keys to highlight the Picture Settings menu. You can then use the cursor keys to scroll down and highlight the OPC option and press Enter. From here, you can choose to turn OPC on or off. If you have any other questions, please call our AQUOS Advantage Support Team at 877-332-7867 and a member of the team will be able to assist you further.

Thank you for your recent inquiry about connecting a sound bar to the Sharp AQUOS LC-60LE650U. When connecting a sound bar to the LC-60LE650U using red and white audio cord you will want to be sure the TV is set to a variable audio mode.

- Please select the MENU button on your Sharp remote control to bring up the TV sets main menus.

- Next please press the LEFT and RIGHT arrow keys until you get to the System Options menu and press the DOWN arrow key until you highlight Terminal Setting and hit ENTER.

- Once in the Terminal Setting sub-menu please press the DOWN arrow key until you have highlighted the Output Select option and select ENTER.

- After pulling up the Output Select menu you will want to press the UP and DOWN arrow key until you have Variable highlighted and select ENTER.

- Lastly please press the MENU button to exit the menus completely.

Setting your TV set to variable audio mode will disable the front speakers on the TV set, but allow you to control the sound going to the sound bar by using the volume up and down buttons on your Sharp remote control. If you require any further assistance feel free to contact us at 1(877) 332-7867 Monday-Friday 9am-7pm CST or Saturday and Sunday 9am-7pm CST. We are happy to assist.

Without knowing the exact sound bar model its hard to tell just what you need to do. I know with my sound bar I have it setup the same as you do. The TV setting that works for mine is...Go to "Menu", then "Setup" scroll down to "PC Audio Select" and select "PC IN" Its normally set to "HDMI" and even if its set on "PC IN", change it back to "HDMI" and then back again to "PC IN"
If this works then unfortunately you may have to do this every time you want to use your sound bar. This TV has a really horrible setup for Surround Sound. It takes a while to find just the right settings to make it work.
Just double check to ensure the RCA Jacks are in the Audio Outputs (Red & White) located under the HDMI Outputs. Also tune your TV to the "TV Input" once there go back to the Menu and then Setup and make sure PC IN is selected. If not then select PC IN as mentioned above.
I hope this helps. I know it's very frustrating. Good luck :)

Digital Audio Output not working for all HDMI connections

I have a Boston Acoustics 2.1 Sound Bar hooked up to the digital audio output port of the TV, but sound is only coming through the sound bar speakers for the HDMI-1 port (cable box) and not for my Blu-ray player (HDMI-2 port) or Apple TV (HDMI-3 port). I even switched these peripherals around and the sound worked for each one when hooked to the HDMI-1 port, but none of them would work with the other two HDMI ports. Does the digital audio output port ONLY work with what's connected to the HDMI-1 port for this particular model TV? Or should the other two HDMI ports be working with the digital audio output port, and the issue is with my particular TV set?
