Thank you for your interest in the LC70LE847U. This can only be accomplished with models that have the Smart Central feature, which is the 7 & 8 series. This was a feature that was not advertised, but is compatible with most USB keyboards for these limited applications. The only kinds of wireless keyboards that may be supported would be ones that have a USB dongle that they communicate to. The reason we do not advertise this in the manuals or on the website, is because we do not guarantee all types of keyboards will work.

We are not able to recommend a specific backup battery by watt capacity for the TV. The only recommendation we can make is that if you choose to use a battery backup system, use one with a Pure Sine Wave, and not an Approximated Sine Wave so that there are no problems with the TV recognizing the power signature.

To access the URL bar for the web browser please press the yellow “D” button at the bottom of the Sharp remote control (when you have the web browser open and viewing the www.sharpusa.com web page). This will open the web browser’s tool bar. Next please use the right directional arrow button to scroll over the URL for sharpusa.com and press the Enter button. Next please press Enter again to open the on screen keyboard. From here use the directional arrow keys to highlight the letters we are looking for and press the Enter button to confirm them. Once you have the new web address typed out please highlight the “Done” option and press Enter. Then use the right arrow key to highlight the arrow button to the right of the URL bar and press Enter. This will now take you to the desired web page.

If you encounter any issues along the way or would like further assistance please contact an AQUOS ADVANTAGE Advisor at 1-87-SEE-AQUOS or 1-877-332-7867.

Thank you for your recent inquiry on our Sharp AQUOS LC-70LE847U. You can turn the 3D function on by pressing the Blue 3D button on your Sharp remote control. Once you click the 3D button it will detect what type of media you are using. If you are using a 2D media format you will be able to select 2D to 3D mode, Side-by-Side, or Top and Bottom. If watching a true 3D media format it will automatically turn on 3D mode or ask if you would like to do a 3D to 2D conversion on the 3D Menu. Whenever you are in 3D mode on the LC-70LE847U the power light will turn blue. When you want to turn off 3D mode just simply select the 3D button on the Sharp remote and it will return your TV set to 2D.

Question

How can I stop the TV switching from 2D to 3D and back without touching anything?

Often the screen turns semi-dark with the "Switching to 3D mode - Please put on 3D Glasses" prompt and then about 10 seconds later it will say "Switching back to 2D Mode - Please take your glasses off now". I have tried with glasses plugged in and not plugged in, charging and not charging, hiding the remote for astray infra-red signals, going through the entire 3D menu on the TV and in the book and cannot find an answer. The television is three months old. Help?

Thank you for your interest in the LC70LE847U. Your TV comes with an auto 3D feature that is designed to change to 3D when it detects a potential 3D signal. To turn off this feature, please go into the Sharp Menu and go to a section called "System Options". From here, please go down to "3D Setup" and press "Enter" on your Sharp remote. Press "Enter" again on "3D Auto Change". Please turn this to off. From here, the TV should only offer 3D when you press the 3D button.

Thank you for your recent inquiry about our Sharp AQUOS LC-70LE847U. TV browsers are limited on the formats that they can display. Select websites may not load properly or be able to have full navigation based off the format of the website itself, the format of the content and the type of cookies and downloads required to allow the content to be viewable. You will want to check with Redbox and see if they have an alternate version of their website that would be more user friendly to non-PC based browsers.

Thank you for your inquiry regarding the LC70LE847U. All current models available through Sharp USA end with the letter “U” and can be found at the following link: http://www.sharpusa.com/Home/ForHome/HomeEntertainment/LCDTV/Models.aspx. In this case, the two models you are inquiring about are the same model, so it is likely that the place where you saw the product listed as ‘LC-70LE847’ accidentally omitted the letter U from the end. If you have any further questions please contact us directly to speak with an AQUOS Advantage Advisor at 877-332-7867 Monday-Friday from 7 AM-7 PM.
